Teaching Artists
Arts on the Horizon is seeking teaching artists for our afterschool program offerings and weekly summer camp sessions. Arts on the Horizon is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides arts education programs and performances specifically designed for children ages 0-6.

Teaching artists will write their own plans based on a provided framework and with guidance from the Director of Education.

The available positions include:
Lead Teachers for:
- Summer Camp (Starting rate: $430/week for half-day sessions)
- Afterschool enrichment classes for Pre-K - 2nd grade (Starting rate: $50 per class)
- We currently work with several partners to ensure equitable access to out of school time learning opportunities through our afterschool partnership programs with Alexandria City Public Schools and DC Public Schools.
- Programs typically run any one day a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Hours are usually 2:45pm-3:45pm, 3:15pm-4:30pm, or 4:30pm-5:30pm depending on class location and program. Each class is 1 hour long and offered for 6 to 8 weeks, consecutively. Rate of pay for teachers is typically $50-$65 per class session.

Arts on the Horizon internships and fellowships provide hands on experience working in Theatre for the Very Young.
