Winter Festival 2023
Sing-a-long Song Lyrics

Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland!

Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird.
He sings a love song as we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland!

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he’s a circus clown
We’ll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kiddies knock him down.

Later on, we’ll conspire
As we dream by the fire,
To face unafraid the plans that we made,
Walking in a winter wonderland!

Little Snowflake

Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Little snowflake falling from the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Falling, falling, falling, falling,
falling, falling, falling, falling, falling...
falling on my head.

Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Little snowflake falling from the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Falling, falling, falling, falling,
falling, falling, falling, falling, falling...
falling on my nose.

Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Little snowflake falling from the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Falling, falling, falling, falling,
falling, falling, falling, falling, falling…
falling in my hand.

Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say
He was made of snow but the children know
How he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in
That old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around

Oh, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me

Thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump
Over the hills of snow

My Favorite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Here Comes the Snow

Here comes the snow.  It’s fallin’ down.
It’s fallin’ gently upon the ground.
Here comes the snow.  It’s fallin’ down.
It leaves a blanket upon the ground.

Sleigh Ride

Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing, ring-ting tingle-ing, too;
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling "Yoo hoo"
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap, let's go;
Let's look at the show.
We're riding in a wonderland of snow.
Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap, it's grand
Just holding your hand.

We're gliding along with a song of a wintery fairy land.
Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy cozy are we,
We're snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be.
Let's take that road before us and sing a chorus or two
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.

There’s a birthday party at the home of Farmer Gray,
It’ll be the perfect ending of a perfect day,
We’ll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop
At the fireplace while we watch the chestnuts pop.
Pop! Pop! Pop!

There’s a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy,
When they pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie,
It’ll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives,
These wonderful things are the things we remember all through our lives!

Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing, ring-ting tingle-ing, too;
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.

Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel

[Verse]
I have a little dreidel
I made it out of clay
And when it’s dry and ready
My dreidel I will play

[Chorus]
O dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made it out of clay
Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
My dreidel I will play

[Verse]
My dreidel’s always playful
It loves to dance and spin
A happy game of dreidel
Come play now, let’s begin!

[Chorus]
O dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
I made it out of clay
Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
My dreidel I will play

[Silly Verse]
I have a little dreidel
I made it out of gum
But when I tried to spin it
It stuck right to my thumb

[Silly Verse]
I have a little dreidel
I made it out of cheese
But when I tried to spin it
It said “eat me please”

Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh!
