and dynamic live music, join Blossom on her journey from the red mountains down to the indigo city 
in this delightful piece that celebrates Japanese culture.

Artistic Team

Margot Greenlee (Creator and Director) has made dances with ranchers and farmers, rabbis and reverends, dogs and their people, babies and retirees, writers and painters, doctors and nurses. As a company member with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange 1999 – 2007 she danced across the country and around the world. Blossom’s Rainbow draws on her experiences creating new work at the Kyoto Center for the Performing Arts in collaboration with Japan’s Contemporary Dance Network. She is a nationally recognized master teaching artist with a 20-year record leading movement programs for artistic, educational, and healthcare settings. She completed her MFA in Choreography and Performance at The Ohio State University in 1993.  Some of her favorite stages are at Chautauqua Institute, Flynn Theater, Hirshhorn Museum, Library of Congress, Michigan University, Wesleyan University, MASS MOCA, Skirball Museum, Walker Museum, and Yerba Buena.
Mark H. Rooney (Composer and Taiko Performer) has been studying, performing and teaching the dynamic art of taiko (Japanese drumming) for the past 17 years in Japan, Europe and the U.S.  Since moving to the DC area in 2011, he has performed at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the Japanese Ambassador's Residence, the Millennium Stage and Nationals Stadium, among many other venues.  He has collaborated with a variety of other artists including Opera unMET, UpRooted Dance and Lumina Studios.  Mark's artistic style blends traditional taiko and contemporary rhythms with an emphasis on connection and reaction/interaction.
April Hickman (Costume Designer) graduated from UNC School of the Arts with a degree in Costume Design and Technology in 2013, during her years at UNCSA she assisted on many productions as well as designed; some of her costume design credits include, Detective Story and Innocent Thoughts, Harmless Intentions. In 2013 she was selected to showcase her costume design work at the Young Designers Forum at the USITT Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating, April moved back home to Colorado where she worked with AmeriCorps Urban youth education program and in addition to teaching as a guest artist at Denver School of the Arts, where she attended middle and high school. She now resides in DC where she works as a costume design fellow with The Kennedy Center and Arena Stage. 
Britney Mongold (Painter) is excited to share her work with Arts on the Horizon. A Scenic Charge Artist and Props Designer, Mongold's most recent credits include Arts on the Horizon's Point A to Point B, Flying V's (You or Whatever I Can Get, Pirate Laureate and the King of the Sea), Rorschach Theatre (She Kills Monsters, Very Still & Hard to See, and Truth and Beauty Bombs),  Theater J (G-d's Honest Truth, The Call, and Sons of the Prophet) and the 2014 and 2015 Source Theatre Festival's Full Length Plays.  Join her this June in Source Festival's 2016 Artistic Blind Date, Entanglement.​
​Samantha Wilhelm (Stage Manager) graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a bachelors degree in Theatre. After graduating, she moved to D.C. and has been working around the area ever since. She was the Assistant Stage Manager for Uncle Vanya and NSFW at Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD before becoming a full time Production Assistant at Ford’s Theatre. Her Ford’s Theatre credits include Violet, The Guard, A Christmas Carol, The Glass Menagerie, and 110 in the Shade.

Cast

Tuyet Thi Pham
Tuyet Thi Pham (Blossom)  is thrilled to return to Arts on the Horizon’s Blossom’s Rainbow. She recently returned to her alma mater at the University of Nebraska this last spring to remount Spooky Action Theatre’s Kwaidan with its original director, Izumi Ashizawa and Dr. Cindy Phaneuf. She has been seen in over 30 productions in the Baltimore-Washington DC area that include roles at Centerstage, Everyman Theatre, Spooky Action Theatre, Constellation Theatre Company, RepStage, Roundhouse Theatre, Imagination Stage, Signature Theatre, The HUB Theatre, The Inkwell, Ford’s Theater, The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Arena Stage, and The Capital Fringe Festival. She has also worked with Perseverance Theatre in Alaska, The Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, and was an Allen Lee Hugh Artistic Fellow and member of Arena Stage’s famed Living Stage Theatre Company. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.
Jacob Yeh
Jacob Yeh (Mountain, Crane, Father, River, Friend) has been seen locally in productions at Studio Theatre, Theater J, Ford's Theatre, the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Washington Stage Guild, Folger Theatre, 1st Stage Tysons, Adventure Theatre MTC, dog & pony dc, The Welders, Pinky Swear Productions, the Source Festival, Spooky Action Theatre, Discovery Theater and as the title character in the Helen Hayes Award winning production of Anime Momotaro at Imagination Stage.  Most recently, he was seen onstage in Constellation Theatre's Journey To the West.  He studied at the TheatreLab in the Honors Conservatory and when not rushing to embarrassment onstage, he can be found at home with his wonderful wife and kids (ages 7, 5, and 2).
