10:00am, 11:00am, & 2:30pm
Free Event, Registration and Access Pass Required

In September, The Kennedy Center will be opening it's new learning center, the REACH. As part of the REACH opening festivities, Arts on the Horizon will be offering classes and workshops for children and their families.

10:00am & 11:00am - Stories on the Horizon: Storybook Adventures

Watch your little one grow and explore in this storybook-inspired class with teaching artists Laura Loy and Margaret McLaughlin. We will play and learn with help from some of our favorite stories. Music, movement, and puppets will be used to bring these stories to life! Best for ages 9 months to 2.5 years.

2:30pm - PLAY-Shop of Off the Page
Take an active role in shaping Arts on the Horizon's newest show, Off the Page! In what we are calling a PLAY-shop, families will participate in a series of interactive activities designed to explore how children ages 3-6 want to engage with various objects, images, and stories related to the play's themes. Join teaching artist, Laura Loy and playwright/director, Ryan Sellers for a fun-filled, participatory workshop! In Off the Page!, the magic of books can transport us to new worlds. Music, illustrations, and entire adventures can lift right off the page. When an imaginative young child falls asleep after reading a book, the stories come to life in their dreams. Using dance and music, this world premiere production will unfold around the audience. Watch a new world come to life right before your eyes!

If you would like to attend the REACH Opening Festival, secure your free pass today. You can obtain your pass and get more information about the festival by clicking the link below. We can't wait to see you!
